Project Location Godawari, Lalitpur

Project Duration Dec 2021 to Dec 2021

Description On-site or Non-sewered Sanitation System is the major problem of Urbanizing Godawari Municipality. The municipality lacks a proper fecal sludge management practice. Majority of the population dispose their excreta directly into sewer lines and ultimately in rivers.
The fecal waste from public toilet in the Ward-02 at Bisankhu Narayan, Godawari Municipality lacks on/off site sanitation system, so installation of RTI Eco Septic tanks in the area would facilitate proper utilization of sludge and promote decentralized method of sludge treatment which encourages Water, Sanitation and Hygiene on community level. The strategy is also a sustainable method of recharging the water table through percolation of treated effluent into the soil which solves the problem of water scarcity.
In order to assess the Fecal Sludge Management in Godawari Municipality and promote on-site sanitation facility for discharge from public toilets, ENPHO in collaboration with EcoConcern constructed a Demonstration Unit Model of Eco Septic tank at the Ward no.-02 public Toilet.
