Project Duration Mar 2021 to Mar 2021

Description Pathabhar Health Post, located in the Geruwa Rural Municipality in the Bardiya District, is one of Nepal’s referral health service stations. Along with the rise in demand for healthcare services across the country, healthcare waste has become a sensitive problem.  In recent years, as more roads have been built in various parts of the country, the demand for healthcare services, including the services provided by health posts, has increased dramatically, resulting in new and expanded services. As a result, waste generation along the services has increased. Moreover, due to the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic scenario around the world, there is more risk in handling trash from health care facilities. Therefore, a good healthcare waste management (HCWM) system is crucial in Pathabhar Health Post, which has limited resources for handling waste created during service provision. Considering the scenario, Eco Concern Pvt. Ltd organized a program to support the installation of a safe healthcare waste management system in the health post.

Objective:

The general objective of this project is to implement a healthcare waste management system at Pathabhar Health Post, Bardiya.
